The 1990 ZX-10 was the last year of the 997 cc Tomcat, the four-cylinder superbike that Kawasaki introduced in 1988. Its engine, E-box frame and suspension were unchanged from the earlier years. Kawasaki replaced it in 1990 with the faster ZZ-R1100.
